Live streaming is the broadcasting of live video to an audience using the internet. It could also be a live video chat between two or more people for examle Instagram Live.

Aside the fact that what is being broadcasted is what is happening a the present moment, live streaming is also different from pre-recorded video base on the fact that it cannot be editted, there is no cut and join, IT IS RAW.

  • Live streaming helps you grow your audience: live streaming a show or programme has a potential of giving a number of audiece way bigger than when such show or programmes is restricted to only those physically present. Considering the present pandemic (covid-19) that has made social gathering almost impossble.
  • Live streaming is costs effecive: the truth is relatively, live streaming is cost effective; when livestreaming a webinar the only cost you will incure is to purchase an internet bundle, contrary to the cost of securing an event and other miscellenous expenses that might arise if one wants such training to hold in a physical location.
  • Increase in revenue: Since the cost of operation has reduced, all things being equal, revenue is bound to increase. Also, for businesses live broadcast widen audience which means it also increases customer base which leads to increase in revenue.
  • Audience interaction: Interacting face to face with clients helps to humanize and put a face to your business thereby increasing the faith people have in your business (especially for small scale business).
  • Business Promotion: Live stream also allows businesses the opportunity to interconnect and inter-promote their platforms. For instance, encouraging the audience to tweet questions or “like” you on Facebook, Twitter and Instaagram is an effective method to quickly grow your social media presence with people who already care about your brand.



How To Enable Live Streaming On Youtube

To live stream, you need to have no live streaming restrictions in the past 90 days and you need to verify your channel.

  1. Go to YouTube.
  2. From the top right, click Create  and then Go live.
  3. If you haven’t already, follow the prompts to verify your channel.
  4. Enabling your first live stream may take up to 24 hours. Once enabled, you can live stream instantly.

Choose a way to stream

There are three types of streams: mobile, webcam, and encoder. Choose the one that’s best for what you’re streaming.

 Mobile

Good for vlogging and quick updates from your phone or tablet.

You’ll need 1,000 subscribers, and a phone or tablet with a camera.

 Webcam

Quickly live stream from your computer using a webcam.

You’ll need a computer with a webcam.

 Encoder

Encoders let you stream gameplay, overlays, and use hardware like preamps, mics, and cameras. This type of stream is commonly used for gaming, sporting events, concerts, and conferences.
